May 2022 Newsletter

Dear All

Firstly can I remind you all of our meeting this month on Tuesday 17th May at 7pm when Alison Kelly, the Dietician from the Diabetic Day Unit at Kingston Hospital, will be talking to us about food and Diabetes. Alison has spoken to the group before and is always full of practical and helpful advice.

Next month we are hoping to have a talk on footcare and in July we are planning an outing. On Wednesday 6th July we are planning an evening walk in Canbury Gardens by the river ending with a picnic or a visit to The Boaters as they have plenty of outdoor as well as indoor seating. Please put this date in your diary as it will be lovely to see each other again and have the benefit of some exercise.

Last month we had a very informative talk from Tracy Nobes about retinopathy and retinopathy screening in South West London. She is keen to have any feedback, good or bad,  about your experience of eye screening since the pandemic so please send me any thoughts and I will pass them on.

Finally and apologies for the delay here are some of the contact links for accessing health and fitness services in the borough of Kingston. We are still hopeful that we can restart our weekly exercise class in the Autumn.
