June 2022 Newsletter

Dear All

It looks like Summer is really on its way this week and just as we are thinking of moving into sandals we have a timely meeting on footcare next Tuesday 21st June at 7pm. Jayne Robbie, a podiatrist at Birmingham University Hospital, Senior Lecturer in Diabetes care at Birmingham University and DUK Clinical Champion for podiatry, will be joining us to talk about looking after your feet.  She will be focusing on practical footcare and prevention and recognition of potential problems.  I will send out the joining details at the end of the week and I look forward to seeing you there.

Hopefully the weather will stay fine for next month as we are planning for July's meeting to be a walk in Canbury Gardens in Kingston by the river on Wednesday 6th July at 6.30pm, possibly ending inside or outside the Boaters pub there. Details will follow in a couple of weeks.

We will NOT have a meeting in August but will restart again in September with a talk from Andy Broomhead from Diabetes UK about their plans and strategy for volunteering. This meeting will be online but we are exploring returning to face to face meetings from October.

I would like to see how you feel about face to face meetings so can you send me a reply letting me know if you would like to return to face to face meetings or would prefer to stay on Zoom. Can I remind you to also let me know your thoughts on a Quiz Night in early October.

Best wishes
